You'll want to take the chuck of hair you want "poofed" and separate it from the rest of you hair you'll then back comb it (tease it) ans hair spray it.

Pull the chunk toward the back of your head and twist then push the chunk forward until you get the height desired.

When you have it the height you want you'll then use bobby pins to secure the "poof".
