it's long and used to be very very curly until it grew and now it has gone a lot straighter, more frizzy, unmanagable, and is falling out a lot. has anyone got any tips for me? i have a prom coming up soon and would really rather not cut it, but i have cut it before and it hasn't made a difference. how can i get it to be curly again?

is it less curly because you straightened it too much? if so thats the problem

The weight of your hair as it gets longer pulls on the curls. Don't brush curly hair! And wash every other day. Curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair. Use a good shampoo and conditioner I happen to love "Dove" moisturizing formula. When you get out of the shower squeeze your hair with the towel..do not rub it. Biosilk silk therapy works wonders! and a dab of Herbal Essence mouse. DO NOT BRUSH! Let it air dry or use a blow dryer with a diffuser.

I suggest using a good quality shampoo and conditioner. I like Alterna Caviar, but it's a bit pricy. I also use Citre Shine Anti-frizz serum. It keeps my curls from getting frizzy and it works better on my hair than frizz-eazz. Blow dry on low setting.

It almost sounds to me like you are using a protein type conditioner on your hair. There is such a thing as too much protein. You might need to switch shampoo and conditioner. My suggestion to you would be to use a good MOISTURIZING shampoo and conditioner rather than a protein shampoo and conditioner. Also, using too much heat on your hair can be very damaging. Try using a good hair lubricating/protecting type of product before using strait irons, curling irons, and blow dryers on it. The sun can also hurt your hair too. A good oil based shine product and possibly some type of gloss would help your hair out tremendously.
